    1. Re: [HORTON] Re: Stephen Horton m Susannah Hyatt
    2. Marilyn - Susanna Hyatt was daughter of Thomas Hyatt, they had 4 children. (a) Thomas Horton; (b) Elizabeth Horton b about 1822 m. Chester A. Stone, s/o James and Lydia (Stewart) Stone. They owned part of the old Horton farm in Pultney; (c) Hepzibah b. Pultney about 1829 m. James Coe - moved to Michigan; and (d) Eliza b. Jerusalem about 1835 m. Rev. William Prentice, Pultney, a Baptist Minister and they moved to Michigan. Other marriages of siblings of Stephen are given as are their descendants. This group are a part of the old Barnabas Horton line of Long Island , New York. These again are gleanings from Lillian (Horton) Altpeter's book. She credits Dr. George Horton, p68 and 69 for her source. That book is under title I believe of "Horton Chronicles" written in about 1876-8 and found in some State Libraries. However Mrs Altpeter, in her book makes many of her own research data available which adds to or corrects some of the older writer's mistakes.. Sorry I have delayed in replying to your query. It is planting season in the midwest. Hope this helps. Donna Horton
