    2. I think there is more than 2 William Ransom HORTONs! The ones in my line, & I think the ones Gordon refers to, I have 1st born ca 1766 & death ca 1845, s/o Wm. Everett HORTON. The second Wm. Ransom was b 1807 in SC to Sterling HORTON [brother of above Wm. Everett], & died in late 1800's in Alabama. Therefore the 1st Wm. Ransom is uncle to 2nd Wm. Ransom. It does beg the question as to relationships among the families, North & South! I don't have an answer. As usual Far too many questions!! Good Hunting one & all, Love, Lou

    3. Garland, I'm a cousin of Eileens. On William Ransom Horton death certificate, William was born in Niagara, Canada, died in Caseville, MI. Parent David and Mary Horton from New York. I have a David Horten born 1794, died June 27, 1864 Haldimand County, Ontario, Canada. 95% sure this is the correct David. 1860 Census have David was living with his son William in Walsingham Township, Norfolk, Ontario, Canada. Horton was spelled: "Horten" in William's Bible. Dennis Horton Kalkaska, MI On Wed, 23 Oct 2002 15:50:43 EDT [email protected] writes: > Hi, Eileen: > > Good to hear from you!! 3. Hey Garland, I appreciate your reply; it's good to know I'm not out here alone. My parents were not big into family, which is unfortunate, Now that I am in my 40's and of poor health, with teenage boys; Craig Jr. 4-26-84 and Christopher 3-5-86. I felt it important to give them a history lesson on the family. I am the only son of Graham Taylor Horton, son of Albert Graham Horton (doctor). His father was Sylvester Vance Horton. His father was Calvin Turner Horton the son of Berry "little berry" Horton. He was the son of David Horton II. I think he was your Williams Brother. I'm new at this and got all this info from Hunter George and the Hoyles. I don't have much on your side after Amos II. I would enjoy have this info added to our charts. Maybe someday soon I'll plan a US tour to get around and meet all my cousins; I would like to do this in the next year or so. Please feel free to write me, snail mail, or call me anytime, I would like to have your address and info so I could do the same. Who knows, in these crazy times we live in, maybe we all should be thinking about a family reunion somewhere centralized. I don't know if that could be done, but it sure would neat really cool to get a couple hundred Horton's and family in one place for an afternoon! Regards, Cruz Craig Dolphin Rd. 3. Greetings to you Garland, It's been sometime since we have talked and as I read your response to Craig today I thought of a question regarding William Ransom. When was your William Ransom born. I'm sure you have given this information to me before. This age thing is not the greatest in the world. I am still looking for David HORTON b. abt.1796; m. to a Mary Ransom. I am beginning to think she is the wrong wife. I can find nothing on her anywhere. Did find a few things in Canada on David but can't prove any of them. It is a definite roadblock because I don't know where to go to connect to any other family members. Some of my HORTON relatives have visited others in one of the southern states but don't know who. James Henry HORTON b. Sep 1863; m. Ida Bedford is the son of William Ransom & Lavina Caldwell. James visited someone down there but no one seems to know who. Perhaps someone on the list is familiar with some of these names. Eileen (HORTON) Anderson

    3. I'm reposting my Horton to the list. I have a Dilley/Della B. Horton who was born in Wyoming Twp., Kent Co., MI about July 1856. She was married in Wyoming Twp. and didn't list her parents names on her marriage cert. On census she states that her parents were both born in Canada. I did find a Jesse M. and Sarah A. Horton childless (both b. in Can) on the 1850 census in Grattan Twp., as a farmer, land records transfering their land there, and in the 1860 census in Wyoming Twp. as a boatman with a daughter Dill, age 3. After that they disappear. Rumor had it she was uninherited for her choice of husband (Lewis A. Reynolds in 1876) but I'm thinking it's possible she was orphaned. None of them appear on the 1870 census found on the Michigan web site. Does anyone have any ideas or are possibly related?? Carolee [email protected]

Jim's E-mail is JHoyle [email protected] He has Malcus's e-mail address. I never had the pleasure of meeting Malcus but have heard of him all my life from My Aunt Sally Horton who died in the 1970's who was also his Aunt. I have some major Horton family information that is different from the "Barnabus" theory. I live in Gallatin Tn. Regards, Daniel S. Hoyle

    3. Greetings from Kingaroy, Queensland, Australia. My GGG Grandmother, Rachel HORTON, married Joseph KINGSTON at the Church of St Mary Le Port in Bristol on 1 May 1791. A witness to the marriage was Hannah HORTON. Records suggest that Rachel was born about 1772. Joseph and Rachel settled in Temple Cloud where Joseph was leasing a cottage with Martha HORTON (Rachel's mother?) Searches of records around the Cameley area for HORTON's have been quite unrewarding. Does anybody know of areas in Somerset where there were HORTON's in the second half of the 18th century? Has anybody suggestions as to what I might be able to do to discover Rachel HORTON's birthplace and family? Regards Ron Johnson [email protected]
