    3. Does anyone have any info on Randolph Horton's family? His Dad was William Henry Horton. His mother was Anne C Pardy. William henry was born Aug 18, 1830 in New York. His fathers first name might have been Franklin. Randolph married Mary Ophelia Bennett who was born in New York. Her William H Bennett. His father was Corneluis Bennett and mother was Elner Lamberson. Randolph was born 2-11-1858 in New Yor. He died 9-14-1918 and is buried at Guthrie Center, IA. His wife Mary is also buried in G.C. They had four children Harry, Franklin, Vina and James. James died young. He was stepped on by a horse. Harry and Franklin were hit by a train in Iowa. Maybe Harlin, IA. My grandmother was Vina. She married Andrew Jorgensen. They spent all of their life in Guthrie County. Both are buried in Guthrie Center.I have found a marrage record of a Sherman E Horton to Lura C. Worrall 1884;J.E. Horton to Mrs. Ella Pickett 1872 and James H. Horton to Minnie M. Blackburn 1896. I believe William H.Horton is buried in Guthrie County but can't find a Anna Horton. Does anyone have info on this line. Thankyou.

    2. June, I descend from Joseph's brother Amos1 and then have two lines to Amos 1 through his son Amos 11 whose grandchildren (the children of Hartwell Horton and Sarah Horton ) got married and had Rebecca Scarborough . (Sarah's son Daniel Scarborough and Hartwells daughter Cynthia). Rebecca Scarborough Married Pressley Pace and had my Great grandmother Mary Catre Pace who married Sylvestor Horton,. who was Our Joseph Horton's GGGgrandson. Joseph's father Daniel Horton of Nansemond Co Va was his GGGGgrandfather. Sylvestor Horton descends from David Horton, Joseph's son, who died in Wake Co NC in 1784, through his son David Horton 11 through his son Littleberry then to Calvin Horton who was Sylvestors father. Hope this helps. Daniel Horton born 1658 came to Nansemond Co Va as an indentured servant from England under a man named "Peters". He worked the land for 7 or 8 years and obtained his first land He died in June 1718 in Surrey Co VA. He married Martha Timms as his 2nd wife daughter of Amos Timms in abt. 1695 in Nansemond Co ( which later became Surrey Co). She was born in approx 1675 in England and died 1745 in Surrey Co va. Daniel Horotn came to Nansemond co in 1774 under James Peters according to Early Emigrants of Va Vol 11. Daniel is listed in the Isle of Wright County Rent List in 1701 which indicated that he didnt own land then. but was an independant farmer. In 1704 and 1705 he appears on the Nansemond co rent list for 200 acres. He signed administrative returns to a Robert Carlisle in 1711. I My information has Joseph Horton born about 1700, Nansemond Co Va and died about 1765 in Granville Co NC He likely was Daniel Horton's son since Daniel was the only other Horton in Nansemond co at that time. What info do youn have on Joseph? Cuzin Dan
