There are so many Hortons on Cherokee, Creek, Osage list. There were also Hortons in some of the other tribes list. Jospesh Horton had the blood and so did his wife Malinda Trusty, was said to be full blood.

While "my" William Horton was born around 1807, he was born, lived, and died in the Kirkheaton area, as did all of his children. As well, none of the children of this generation had second names. It was, in fact, William's younger brother John born 1812 who is believed to have immigrated to Canada or the U.S., leaving his children behind in the Kirkheaton area of Yorkshire.
