    1. [HORTON] Abraham b. 1722 m. Martha Williams (Brissell)
    2. Dear Cousins and All: I have a sister who lives in Salt Lake City (not really genealogy buff, but worried about my preservation of my stuff). I will have the opportunity to visit the LDS Library for two, maybe three days around Mothers Day. I would like to know whether any of you have any Quaker MM records (giving NAME of MM), court, newspaper, similar records for Abraham Horton b. 1722 in maybe NY or MA? I did some looking in Bucks Co. PA deed abstracts for the period 1730-1780 and found no Horton references (though I understand there is some question about whether it was Chester). I don't think I can nail down his parents, families, friends in PA, etc. until I can locate him on a map in Pennsylvania and go from there. FYI, on a VA Quaker line I have an honest to goodness, proven O'Brissell line. I am looking forward to hearing from anyone with an abstract/transcription from a deed, will, court order, Quaker MM, tax list that shows him in PA. All I have are the various secondary family genealogy histories. I don't question their veracity, but would like to figure Abraham out. My best regards, Janet (Baugh) Hunter Abraham & Martha Williams>Daniel & Arminta Mullins> Isaac & Margaret Martin>Martha & Henry Sexton

    2. I am related to Ranford's brother, Sanford Horton, if we are talking about the same Ranford. Was your Ranford born around 1815 and died around 1862? As far as I know, Ranford married Alergena Blackmon. I have one of their children listed as Foratica G. born in 1845. I don't have any info, however, on any of their kids. I don't know if this helped any. Brenda Rendon Osborne

    1. [HORTON] Francis (Frona) W. HORTON, b. 1817-1823 KY
    2. Shelley Janiczek Woodson
    3. Hello Everyone, I'm new to the list and just recently found that my 4th Great Grandmother was a HORTON. Her name was Francis (Frona) W. HORTON, b. 1817-1823 in Kentucky. She was married to Jacob Scott CLARK, b. 1810. In 1860, they were living inWeakley Co., TN. I think that Frona was the daughter of John HORTON and Elizabeth LASSWELL who were m. in Henderson Co., KY. I'm just guessing at this based on census information. I'm very interested in information about Frona's marriages. She was apparently married to someone with the last name MAYNARD around 1861-1864. I'd like to know who this fellow was. In 1871, she may have been married to Constant H. HYNDS (Weakley Co., TN). Any information on Frona is appreciated. Thanks, Shelley -- Shelley R. Woodson

    3. Yes I am still out here. Thanks for the information Ron. I still have not been able to connect the Belpre, OH HORTONS to Rhode Island HORTONS but every little tidbit of information helps. Searching for ancestors of Daniel Bent HORTON of Belpre, Washington Co., OH. Born about 1807. Married to Hannah McLaughlin. Kristin Bush, if you're still out there I don't know if this info may help you or not. I don't recall who all and where all you were looking but just found this recently. Maybe this will help somebody. See below; Just a couple of comments to explain about the 1782 census. Some towns took a household census and others just did an estate valuation. The census information for the towns of Smithfield and North Providence are not included-they were never found. Below is a listing for all HORTONS in the 1782 census: Benjamin Horten, Barrington, estate valuation 30 pounds; John Horten, Gloucester, 1 male age 50+, 1 female age 50+ Amos Horton, Johnston, taxable estate 21 pounds Widow Horton, Scituate, 1 male 0-15, 1 male 16-21, 1 female 50+ I also have Bicknell's "History of Barrington" so I gave that a look. Not too much information, but it did say this about Benjamin Horten: Served in Capt. Thomas Allin's Co.,appeared on the alarm at Bristol, April 1, 1776;
