    2. Kim, found out that Oscar Horton was not only a Judge but a principal of the high school and a tax assessor for Marshall Co. I have a neighbor who graduated from Guntersville High School and she was second in her class and recieved the "Oscar Horton Achievement Award" . He was listed in the Guntersville History books an d was quite a prominent citizen which is characterstic of Hortons. Hope this helps. Dan Hoyle Gallatin tn

Unfortunately, there was no reference attached as to where it came from but I believe it was from some Wayne County, TN historical publication. It list James Henry as Isaac's son. It give the birth date as 1821. It also list his wife and children. If you think it would help you, I could scan it and e-mail it to you. I also have a Department of the Interior, Bureau of Pensions, application for Isaac Sr which states he has two grandchildren living with him. One of them is James, age 13. The form is filled out in long hand and is difficult to read. I don't know how well it will scan. I could snail mail you a copy. Let me know if you would like a copy of these documents..
