Cabell and Maria or Mary Horsley who was most likely a slave. I want to find out anything I can about her to fill out my knowledge about my ancestry. We had ancestors, Anderson Horsley and Betsy Williams marry while in slavery on the farm of Fred M. and I am thinking that Maria may have been a sibling of Anderson. In 1870 Anderson and Betsy had moved to northern Alabama in the company of their children and Adsonia as well as three other Cabell children, Catherine, Christopher and Pauline, who could have been Adsonia's siblings. My Horsley cousin and I conjecture that perhaps Anderson had the Cabell childrenwith him because Maria may have died before the war ended. If anyone has any knowledge or leads for me please contact me. I just want to know from whence we came. I've discovered a lot about the family but this is a new piece that I need help with.
