He was never married, but living with Amanda in Vanceburg, Lewis County, in the 1880's when he fathered our grandmother, Grace Lee Martin Dillow, by Mary Jane Caseman. Interestingly, he attended Mary Jane's wedding to another man 8 months after his daughter, Grace, was born. He had moved to Friendship, IL, by the time the letter was written, in the area where two other Horsley sibs were living.
