Parents, also according to marriage license, are Henry Horsley and Lucinda Edwards Horsley. So much for the knowns. Now some speculation. A family story says that someone said they were told that someone overheard someone say that Berry's father was a "Ralph."OK, typical family story. But, sometimes there may be a grain of truth hidden inside. In the correct time line the only "Ralph" in Kentucky, according to census records searched, was in Breckinridge county. Rapael, Raphael Ralph, depending on record. In one census Ralph's parents are living with his family, Levi and Sarah. Now some speculation. Given a name from a family story, a location and a time frame I'm wondering if Henry is a brother to Levi. The family story either got changed by word of mouth, wishful thinking or simply a misunderstanding, Ralph would be a cousin. Ralph named a son Henry either after his brother or...... AND, it seems that all the Horsley's found in Breckinridge county are related according to information from Family Search. Mostly Ralph's line. OK, I'm ready. It is true for this report as well. " Again, please use these interpretations I present with caution, since this is only a preliminary assessment made by only one researcher, and all original records have not yet been checked or probably even found. While I have ardently played devil’s advocate with my own interpretations at each step, it takes the interaction and feedback of a community of researchers with their own interpretations, family knowledge, questions and answers, along with the discovery of more records and further in-depth investigation of those records already found, to “grow backwards” any family tree. Hopefully even these records to date have given us a new view of this Jarrell family, enlarged their lives for us by connecting them in communities and among people whose associations continued over time, and widened the window into their lives, times, and geographic surrounds. Her father was Thomas Bostick Jones, and I have broken through this part of the brick wall but not her mother. Her mother's name was Lucitta Horsley and she was T.B. I did not get to meet my great grand parents but did attend one of my great grand mother?s funeral around 1989-ish in Illinois. Wondering if it could have been Della? Horsley, 88, of Chillicothe, Ohio, died 5:15 a.m. Monday, February 3, 2014 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born July 10, 1925, in Chillicothe, OH, (Ross County) to the late Edward O. and Anna Belle Detty Burt. On February 14, 1948, she married Robert E. Horsley who died November 15, 1979. Surviving are children, Dianna (Douglas) Terry, of Chillicothe, Dennise L. (Jeffrey) McAfee, of Kingston, Ohio and Michael (Lois) Horsley, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Bobbie Jean Rericha, Michelle Johnson, Dreama Rooney, Melissa Horsley, Gerald "Dougie" Terry and Michael Horsley; 9 great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Robert "Dick" Poole and special nieces Ruth Montgomery and Carolyn (Raymond) Poole. She was predeceased by 5 brothers and 6 sisters. A graveside service was held 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2014 in Londonderry Cemetery with Adena Hospice Chaplain Bruce Hines officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME, Chillicothe, Ohio. The family would like to thank Adena Hospice for their care in our Mothers passing.
