    3. I know there are many Horner's and know some came to the New World in the 1600's. If my branch from NJ is connected, it is sure to be "way" back! They sure did a lot of migrating over the years. Gloria, it has to be an interesting reunion that your son will be having next month. That family chart that he has done was a lot of work on his part. I wish him a lot of success at the reunion and hope he finds more "tid-bits" to add to his research. You, yourself, are fortunate to have so much info on the Water's family. It's rather nice to hear about someone who has been able to trace and document so much about their own family. He works as an archivist and genealogist at the Nabb center. He's knows his Horner's arrived into the Virginia area. Unfortunately, every time he finds another member, there's all the connections to figure in. For a Christmas family dinner with mostly Horner's he has a huge chart printed, it's probably at least 8' by 4' and everyone he has with the direct connections are there. Every year, he has another "layer" to add. I suspect the Horner's are drawn from many families from many places, and arrived during a stretch of time, in a variety of places. I'm a bit lucky, in that my direct ancestor, Waters, came to Jamestown, Virginia in 1619, I think I have that year right, it's the 16th or 19th, but 1616 never looks right when I type it. I've actually been to where he was when he died in, well, I've been the village, and the church, as he returned to England, and his will was done there. Unfortunately, none of the graves from the 1600's remained, but there are documents there concerning him, and we know what happened to his 2 children and widow back in Virginia. I'll give my son the info and ask him. Thanks. My gg grandmother was Catherine Horner married to a Peter Cushard. In the mid 1800's they lived in Centre Co Pa.. Later moved to Clearfield County Pa to an area within walking distance from Centre Co. Catherine was born around 1805, but I know not where. She died in a poor house and is buried in the Philipsburg cemetery in an unmarked grave. I have a GGF born in Ohio in 1831 and cannot find his parents or lineage from that point backward. His name was Robert Turner Horner, so am thinking his mother's maiden name must have been Turner, or maybe his grandmother. Any info would be great appreciated. _________________________________________________________________ New Windows 7: Find the right PC for you. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pc-scout/default.aspx?CBID=wl&ocid=PID24727 ::T:WLMTAGL:ON:WL:en-US:WWL_WIN_pcscout:112009 ------------------------------ To contact the HORNER list administrator, send an email to [email protected] To post a message to the HORNER mailing list, send an email to [email protected] __________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word "unsubscribe" without the quotes in the subject and the body of the email with no additional text. 3. HORNER / HORNOR Listers, >From what I've been able to find out so far, there were two 1st Cousins in NJ, having left Long Island NY in the late 1690's. One was Isaac HORNER, known as the "Quaker Scribe " on L.I. NY. They both ended up in West Jersey and left a "big bunch" of descendants that scattered over New Jersey and points west. I have a lot of notes, and someday, hope to organize them in some way to make them make more sense. I descend from a female, Elizabeth HORNER (Mrs. Samuel) BOWKER (she born ca 1760+). Think I know some of her siblings but not her parents. Just want to keep my finger in until I can get to my HORNER research. Robert A.
