Just adding that although I don't have the same Horner names, my line came into NJ and moved to Indiana where they lived for years. Anyway, I do have two Benjamin Horners in my line: 1. One Benjamin was the son of John and Hannah Horner. Benjamin worked as a fire insurance agent in Manchester, England and later in Boston, Mass.. He became ill while living in Boston and returned to Manchester where died on 6 May 1884. As far as I know, in talking with my English cousins, he died a bachelor. He was born in Salford [a suburb of Manchester] in October 1847. 2. A second Benjamin Sandford Horner, son of Richard Valentine Sandford Horner and Emma Horner. Benjamin was born 11 June 1880 in Salford. He married Rosalind Sarah Watts, age 23, daughter of Robert Watts (deceased), at Parish of St. Paul Church, Sculcoates, on 8 February 1903. He lived from 1915 to l936 at 9, Granville Avenue, Reynoldson Street, West Sculcoates, Hull. His occupation from 1915 to l936 was locomotive boiler tuber (railway). He died 19 March l936 at age of 55, at home on Granville Ave. The rest of the names you gave me: Charles, Barzillai, Gabriel, Taylor, George, Oscar, Wanda and Juanita Horner have not shown up in my research. Also, none of my Horners - to my knowledge - has ever lived in New Jersey or in Indiana. If you think any of this information is helpful, please feel free to ask any questions. If you believe your Horners came from Manchester, you might want to contact the Manchester and Lancashire Family History Society. I have been a member of the Society for over 20 years, and they produce an excellent quarterly The Manchester Genealogist. I do hope you make contact with some cousins in England. I did over 20 years ago and have visited several of the cousins each year, and they are an interesting group. Finally, are you related to any of the Oberles who live in Port Charlotte or in Punta Gorda? My wife and I own a condo in Englewood, and that name rings a bell, but can't recall how I came across your name.
