    3. Hello Carol Thank you for your reply; it's the first time I've contacted anyone researching a Horner from anywhere near Ireland, where William, the first Horner I know much about, was born. He went to England in 1778 with Wesley, but I have so far not found out where he was stationed until 1783 when he was working in the southeast of England, and courting the young woman he married two years later. Then they moved around in those counties as the Methodist Church saw fit. They were in Bristol in 1786, Oxford 1790, Devonport 1794-1796, Bradford on Avon in 1798 and Portsea in 1803; this I know from their children's birth dates. From letters I found that for a time William was in Merthyr Tydfil in Wales. (I hope that spelling is right!) She died in 1885 in Carroll county, Ohio. Any information would be helpful, and thank you for any information. Carol McBain

    3. Listers, Three generations of Horners (1783-1821) are given in this extracted 1821 deed from Monmouth County, NJ. Not connected to me (that I know of), but thought it might be of interest to someone? 27 Mar 1821: LDS microfilm 0592664, "Monmouth County Deed Book C2," p.686-691: Deed from Fuller & Damaris HORNER, Joshua & Ann HORNOR, Job & Ann HORNOR & Samuel & Mary WARNER to Benjamin HORNOR, all of Upper Freehold Twp, for $1544, 85.62 acres of land in Upper Freehold. Joshua HORNOR, deceased, by will (23 Aug 1783), gave to his son Joshua (wife Rachel) part of his plantation for their support, and to their grandchildren after Joshua & Rachels' deaths (both now deceased). Mary WARNER, wife of Samuel WARNER (who became parties to the deed as grantors) & Sarah CHAFEY, wife of Thomas CHAFEY (18 Mar 1805-sold their share to brothers) are the only other children, in addition to the 3 brothers in this deed. 2. I have Horner roots in Burlington too. I cannot believe they are not all connected somehow, too many in the same place not to be. My connection there is my gr gr grandfather Tom Horner, born Tuckerton about 1833. Believe his father was Jeremiah and mother possibly Sarah Gaskill. That's my brickwall for several years. 2. Dear Steve: Now there is a good chance we may connect. Someone told me a while back that Charles & Alice may be my Barzillia's parents, but I could not find proof of it.. But unless Brazillia was a big joker (which very well could be)....why would he say on his marriage licence that his parents were John & Rachael ??? I need to get back into my files on Charles & Alice again. This sounds like a match to me, but need to explore it some more. My husband & I like to have at least a couple of proofs before we completely buy into it. P.S. My mother was Wanda Juanita Horner, born in Indiana d/o George Horner (who was the s/o Gabriel Taylor Horner) & g-granddaughter of Brazillia Horner who came from New Jersey (poss. Monmouth Co) to Barthlemew Co., IN. & shortly after, settled & died in Brown Co. Indiana Lets keep in touch....Carolyn, retired in Florida, but from Indiana.
