Rachel died shortly after Hannah's birth. John Horner then disappeared from the area. He may have migrated toward the west. There seem to be many John Horners during that period of time.     2. I am researching my HORNER side of the family. Does anyone have any connection to this family? Abraham HORNER married to Ann? Son Mathew HORNER - christened 10 June, 1813 in Bedale. Abraham was a Stone Mason. According to IGI other children were Mary Ann christened 1808 Christopher 1809 (died 1815) John 1810 Abraham 1815 William 1817. Mathew HORNER (who was also a Stone Mason) married Isabella NICHOLSON April 20, 1835 in Bedale and all their children were christened in Bedale. Children: George HORNER christened November 15, 1835 *Elizabeth HORNER christened November 4, 1838 Dorothy HORNER christened November 15, 1843 Henry HORNER christened April 16, 1845 Anne HORNER christened June 13, 1847 In 1881 Mathew was a widower and still listed as a being a Stone Mason, living in Bedale. Elizabeth HORNER married John STAINSBY - Seaman son of Matthew STAINSBY also a Seaman on May 13, 1858 in Stockton. John was born about 1836 in Stockton. Children: 1. Sarah Ann STAINSBY (born Dec quarter of 1861) went on to marry Robert BEST (Pattern Maker, born in Stockton about 1862) in the September quarter of 1883 - children John Robert, Lily (married Ernest FOSTER in 1905), and Horace BEST 2.
