The William listed here is the son of Samuel Hooker Surry Co. NC. 1700's. According to a post by Patrick Anderson on Genforum. This Samuel is the grandfather of our George. Does anyone have any info on this Samuel Hooker. I don't know when he was born. Read the article it talks about this William being the William in Patrick Co VA in the time frame we are talking about. I have seen the article before but don't know how to verify the assumptions. The William-Samuel connection is possible. I do not see how the John Hooker, Sr. of Tyrrell Co. connection is possible. I think Pat Anderson, who used to be host of this forum (Pat is from from Robert, b c 1786 in TN/NC, Hooker's line)posted that a long time ago, and since we have found out more info - does it show the last post date on that info? - one other post of Pat's has a lot of mis-info that has never been changed on wrong dates for Wm and Thomas the two elder brothers. It could be our guys' father was named Wm, but the Wm in Patrick Co., in the early 1800s had crossed over from NC c 1808 and is in Jack's line from Stokes Co., NC. His chidlren are known. The Wm in Stokes Co., NC crossed (back?) over into VA c 1808 - jack posted all this info recenlty on this list.
