And then it's Isham on the Census. In 1850 Esom is in Knox Co, KY in the household is a woman named Elizabeth Lawson or Larson she is by my guess the second wife. Lucy is there and 30. You guys probably know this, but I was lost and am just now putting it together. You must mean in 1860 Esom is living in Elizabeth's household and Lucy is 30, as in 1850 you posted him still with Jenny and Lucy Ann is 20. And in 1870 is when Esom is listed as Isham (age 74) and Lucy is in her 40s Elizabeth is in her 50s . Charlotte - remember you saying that the ELizabeth he married was Adams? maybe her maiden name was Adams and she is a widow here in 1860 and named Lawson?? well, so now we have Esom from 1820-1870 - that is really good as most times one does not get all the censuses on one person continuously for 50 yrs!!!! But if many of the names get messed up like Esom/Esau and Esom/Isham then we can see why we do not find soem of them on certain censuses!!
