OK, so Elizabeth was Easom's 2nd wife - was she 20 yrs younger than he was??- does the 1870 list relationships - like "daughter", etc.? I was thinking that Esom's first wife was Eliz., but the first wife was Jenny who was 55 in 1850. Elizabeth was probably younger then?? and Lucy Ann was listed as "idiotic" in 1850 and 1870 according to Joy. I guess this Isham is Esom unless we find an Isham another time in KY in 1860 or 1850. Was thinking it could be Esom's brother Isham, but guess not (do we have that Isham wiht Louisa in 1860 and 70?). There does seem to be a connection and 2 sons (Esom and Isham in Patrick Co.,VA) of Samuel's (besides your John probably being smauel's son, too) since Joyce/the marriage record says Samuel is Isham's father - I guess she is referring to the Samuel living by Esom in 1820. Lucy A.'s age on this census is most likely wrong and should be 40. Since she's on the 1850 census with Esom & wife Jenney she is most likely their daughter.
