I guess the person who posted the info accessed an on-line file from the war of 1812 to get that info?? Did they state where they got it? I knew that Darrell had info that George died pretty late in life and was buried in Franklin Co., AL - the last census I have on George is in 1860 in Winston Co.,AL where he had moved by 1850. Do you have George on a census in 1870? Darrell has some kind of obit on George in a Methodist magazine, I think. I am trying to get Darrell to look at the 1770-90 Middle TN census that was taken there to see if our guys might have been over that way by 1790. They had to be in TN by the late 1790s, probably, and it seems since Samuel married a Nolan and he and George and Robert moved directly N to KY that they were in Middle TN. All the Nolans in TN were living in/around Williamson CO.,TN in the early 1800s and Williamson Co., Tn was carved out of Davidson Co.,TN c 1799. We also have that tax record of Thoams and Wm being in Williamson Co.,TN from 1801-1818 - at least one of them on the tax rolls each yr - that is the time they would have been old enough to be taxed - having been b in the late 1770s. Robert stating b Tn at times and John (b 1792 in TN) always stating b TN seems to indicate they were at least in what later became E TN by 1792. Most people moved west from E TN westward c 1800 when the Indian territory became more safe to cross - some even crossed to Middle TN by 1770 - as is eveidenced by having a census in that area in 1770. I wonder since there was a census in Middle TN in 1770 -1790 if there were any censuses taken in eastern TN territory at the same time?? Wonder if the TN Archives would have that info?? You mentioned you had been tot he TN archives didn't you?? I feel there must be info there that woudl help us find these 6 guys' parents' names.
