    3. I am just now beginning to have a little time here and there to catch up and digest. As for the Isham who married a Louisa Morris: IshamHooker Gender: Male Estimated birth year: 1861 Age: 18 Race: White Spouse: Louisa Morris Spouse Gender: Female Spouse Estimated Birth Year :1856 Spouse Age: 23 Spouse Race: White Marriage Date: 4 Oct Marriage County: Surry Marriage State: North Carolina Source Vendor: North Carolina State Archives" The info was on ancestry.com's NC Marriage Records. The year of marriage was not listed but would have been 1879. -----Original Message----- From: hooker-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:hooker-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Adella Holly Sent: Wednesday, November 29, 2006 4:46 PM To: hooker@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [HOOKER] Samuel HOOKER b. bet. 1824-1828 VA?atten Charlotte andJoyce Louisa could have died young or been using a middle name/another given name on the census. Sharon had posted on Sept 29th, 2006 that Samuel and Lucinda Hooker had a son, Joel, who died at age 28 days in 1855 in Patrick Co.,VA of "bold hives." Other posts on that day by Sharon were of the mother of Jack Hooker's Jesse, Mary Hooker, died at age 92 in 1858 of a fever - informant Jesse Hooker, son. There were 2 other Hooker deaths she posted that day and several land records between 1771-1801 in Patrick Co.,VA listing Robert Hooker (Koger Creek), a Samuel on the Dan River and a Wm Hooker all between those dates in Patrick Co.,VA. Jack is having to answer me at a later date - can anyone remember when his Wm came over the line from NC into VA c early 1800s? 3. Sharon, We did have the info you list below, I just oculd not access it on my computer from the web site it was on (my computer being old). Charlotte had the original marriage cert. from this marriage - what we are trying to do is tie this Samuel to either the family of Jack's Wm Hooker (b c 1755 in NC) who came into VA in the ealry 1800s from (NW) NC or to the family of the Samuel listed in Patrick Co., VA in 1820 living next to Charlotte's Esom (this Samuel is most probably the father of Esom (b c 1796 in VA and John (b c 1797 in VA). This Samuel is much older than Esom in 1820 and living next door. Then this John and Esom move to TN and live side by side by 1830. This is going to probably be a link to my 6 Hooker brothers and also to the Randolph Co., NC Hooekrs who use the same names - including using Isham as a name (in Randolph Co., NC) in about the same generation as this Isham - their other given names are similar to other VA Hookers and to my line of 6 brothers. And the dates are also similar - Jack Hookers chidlren were b about the same time as Esom and John in the late 1700s and also about the same time as our 6 brothers - seems they could all be close cousins. These western VA and western NC guys could all be closely related descended from the Hookers who stayed in VA until about the 1750s when some might have just slipped across into Surrey and Stokes Cos in NC. They could have not even known they were going into NC - just folloed the Dan River south a ways - their land could have even sretched over the state line. This would make these Hookers closely related to each other and more distantly relate to Wm "I's" line (they might descend from Hookers in his line who stayed in VA when he crossed over in the late 1600s into eastern NC). I feel still that we all may ultimately be related back in early VA - but these western NC Hookers share names that the western VA Hookers used and the eastern line from Wm "I" did not use as much - ie: George, Robert, Samuel, and now Isham. Sharon, did you ever get an e-mail back from the archives of the Episcopal Church in Austin, TX? Did they send you a direct e-address for themselves? You sent me a phone #, but I thought myabe an e-mail might be easier/less expensive for me - you never said if they replied from the actual Archives in TX??
