It has been terribly hard for me, as it brought back so many memories of my own mother's death in November of 2000 and the rest of her siblings, and also my grandfather, her father, who passed away when I was only 7. My first cousin, Linda Hooker Lefevers, his daughter, is also on the Hooker List, and she has been through a lot also, as she was the one who made sure that the arrangements were carried out the way he wanted them, and had been one of the ones who visited him in the nursing home faithfully for a few years, before his passing. Here is his obituary: Floyd "Reed" Hooker Jr., 77 Pineville - Floyd "Reed" Hooker Jr., 77, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, at Pineville Community Hospital. He was born in Bell County on Sept. 30, 1929, the son of the late Floyd and Minnie Rice Hooker. He had worked in construction, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters and brothers, Aileen Evans, Louise Seigler, Johnny, Woodson and Ephraim Hooker. Survivors include his sons, Karl Douglas Hooker (Marilyn) ,and Alan Hooker (Gearldene) ; daughters and their husbands, Brenda and Michael Johnson, Linda and Michael Lefevers and Teresa and Michael Barlow; grandchildren, Scott (Julie) Lefevers, Brian (Karen) Lefevers, Jennifer and Jessica Gambrel, April and Amanda Barlow; great-grandchildren, Morgan Hendrickson, Madison, Marissa and Connor Lefevers; the mother of his children, Wanda Hooker; sisters, Jerlene Warren and Brenda Cook; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Big Jim Cemetery in Arjay with Rev. Darrell Lowe presiding. Pallbearers were Alan Hooker, Michael Johnson, Michael Barlow, Carl Warren, Michael ,Scott and Brian Lefevers.
