Please bear with me everyone as this post is a bit long. Pls delete if not interested. I have read and had people say that there are basically "three" Hooker family lines. First is Rev. Thos Hooker, second is Rev. Joseph Hooker whose family mainly went South, and then the "German" Hookers who came over before the Revolutionary War. (Which basically the other two "lines" did also). But is this really true? Does anyone have real proof that the Third line actually did come from Germany? I have been researching my Hookers, as most of you know, and have come to the conclusion that I are NOT from either of the Reverend's lines. So I must be from the "German". Here is what I have come up with as my Hooker lineage hypothetically until it is all sourced. I will start with my father at the top and go down to the oldest: James Russell Farrell 1925 -1980 born CA died CA Preston Nash Hooker/James Preston Farrell (chg'd his name) 1902-1946 George Graves Hooker 1872-1921 born IL died IN Stephen G. Hooker 1824-1901 born Brandon, VT died Chicago, IL Stephen Hooker 1787-1856 born Stow, MA died Brandon, VT Daniel Hooker 1750-1817 born Littleton, MA NOT Germany died Brandon, VT Jacob Hooker 1680 or 1691 - ? born in MA I have a list of Daniel's children that is in several places, so I know he had Stephen Hooker as a son. I am trying to find a list of children for Stephen Hooker who married Abigail Goss. Abigail was Stephen second wife. First was Anna Woodward. Stephen did have 2 young sons, Daniel and William, who both died in 1818, ages 2 & 3. States on their gravestone sons of Stephen and Abigail Hooker. They are buried in Brandon, VT. The oldest son might be the son of Anna as Stephen didn't marry Abigail until 1816 in Perrysburg, NY. In the federal census for 1830 for Brandon, VT it shows a Stephen Hooker, right age category, married and having 7 living children...5 girls and 2 boys. One of the boys is listed in the 5-10 age category and my Stephen G. Hooker would have been 6 in 1830. So that all fits. But, as we all know, those census records back then didn't give names. So I need to find a listing of names of his children to see if my Stephen G. Hooker is one of them. I want to thank anyone who has read this entire post and again thank you for your patience. If I can put this together it will be one of the "miracles" of genealogy research!! Especially not knowing about even being a Hooker 6 months ago and finding this whole side of the family. I appreciate any and all help, suggestions, advice. Linda Lathrop nee Farrell/Hooker
