    3. I have asked this before, I think, with no answer. Does anyone have any info or know who the Joseph Hooker is who supposedly has a lineage of Hookers from CT...besides Rev. Thomas Hooker. This Joseph is supposed to be related to Rev. Hooker but came several years afterwards. Someone somewhere must have a descendancy chart or info on this man. Rev. Thomas Hooker's is everywhere and then those of you down South seem to mostly come from the Jamestown Hookers. I don't know who they are though. There has also been the belief that Daniel Hooker was a German and fought in the Revolution. Well, Daniel Hooker was born in Littleton, CT, moved to Brandon VT. His father was Jacob Hooker who was also born in New England. So there are either 3 or 4 Hooker main lines out there, it seems. Or perhaps Daniel's grandfather was a German. But I would really like to know who this Joseph Hooker is who came to CT around 1670ish? Can anyone help me? Thanks, Linda Lathrop nee Hooker

    3. I have written back to you before, Linda, and said that there is a whole book on this Joseph who came as an indentured servant, though from a well-off family he wanted to mary a girl they did not want him to marry so he came over on an indenture to work and pay off the passage. There is a book, as I said before. Go to your public library and have them put in Joseph Hooker in their computer which has all printed books, and this book by one of his descendants will come up - It has the words "a Man" in it I think. It traces the ones of his descendats who went from MA through NY to IN and then to Oregon. Also, the famous "Fighting Joe Hooker" is from this line, I think, so look for his genealogy on-line. 3. Hi Celeste, I know you had emailed me before several times but I was told that the book A Man is a Man was about someone else. I didn't realize it was THE Joseph Hooker. I don't remember ever hearing about this indentured servant story. As I said, I had been told he was a Rev. also or said he was. Thanks for this info. Didn't General Joe Hooker come from Rev. Thomas' line? I know he didn't have children but I thought I saw him listed in an article about Rev. Thomas.
