AL 1850>Pontotoc Co MS 1870. I have two Hooker lines. The main one from my g grandfather William Powell Hooker Jr who is grandson of George(one of the six brothers). Then my gr grandmother Susan Elizabeth McEachern (m. Wm Powell Hooker Jr.) Her mother was Mariah Hooker daughter of John b.1797 mentioned above. John ends up 4 families down from Wm Powell Hooker Sr in Pontotoc Co MS in 1870. He is next door to Esom Hooker in Washington Co TN in 1830 and Esom is in Patrick Co VA in 1840. Joyce did you note when Charlotte and I wewre writing back and forth about her Esom and your John - John later names one of his sons or g-sons withthe name/middle name Esom - both Esom b c 1796 in Va and John b c 1797 in VA seem to be soms of SMauel in Patrick Co.,VA in 1820 on the census - we are now trying to tie in our 6 brothers to this John andEsom as well as the Wm in Stoeks Co., NC who also has a g-son named Esam b c 1843. This is such an unusual name that I feel that there has to be a connection. Esom and John are living side by side in Washington Co.,TN in 1830. When John moves south Esom moves back to VA then to KY by 1850 Have you seen your John b 1797 in VA in the 1880 census - also when did Esom die?
