In includes the following: >From "North Carolina Genealogical Society Journal," Vol. xx, no. 4, Nov. l994. p. 270 Tax List of Hertford County, NC, l779 Orphans of James Hooker, deceased 3 slaves, valued at 2l00 pounds money and notes, valued at 200 pounds Total--2300 pounds. Notice the term "orphans." We know the son Samuel was executor and therefore an adult. So this indicates at least 2 minor children. Kyle
