Jane - am currently working to try and place all Greene Co. HOOKERS. I have THOMAS HOLLIDAY HOOKER son of HEYMERICK HOOKER and ELIZABETH PHILLIPS. THOMAS b abt. 1789 and d before 1850. Wife SARAH TURNAGE. THOMAS listed in the 1816 Greene Co. tax list with property and slaves, is 26-45 in the 1820 Greene Co. ceucus, 40-50 in the 1830 Greene Co. cencus, 50-60 in the 1840 Greene Co. cencus, and died before the 1850 Cencus. He was by himself in the 1820 cencus, had young sons and an adult male with him in the 1830 cencus and what appears to be a wife in the 1840 cencus, so he apparently was married after 1820, lost his wife who bore sons, by 1830, re- married 1830-1834 to SARAH. In the 1850 cencus SARAH HOOKER-45 is listed with two sons TRAVIS-19, WILLIAM F. 15 and a dau SARAH-17. In a deed rerecorded 14 Feb. 1885 deed book 8, page 568 it follows: " 13 Jan., 1860 Wm. Frank Hooker to Travis E. Hooker. $9,000. ______ acres on Rainbow Swamp which my father Thomas Hooker bequeathed to me in his last will and testament adj. Benj. Canady, Henry Grainger, James Browne, decd., M P Powell decd., reserving the life estate of my mother Sarah Hooker except 6 acres already sold Henry Grainger in the fork of the public roads on Fox Grape branch. wit: J H Albritton, J T Freeman signed: Wm. Frank Hooker 14 Feb. 1860 E W Best, Clk. 14 Feb. 1885 Jno. C. Dixon, Reg. " I believe that Heymerick son of Heymerick married a Martha and died after 1820 as he doesn't appear in the 1830 cencus. Martha appears in this cencus and her age and station appear in line with that of the wife of Heymerick II. Am still working on HEYMERICK, WILLIAM AND JOHN. Don't know if the WILLIAM in the 1820 Greene Co., cencus is the son of Heymerick I but it would appear so. I have a note that he died in 1842, but he is not listed in the 1830 Greene Co. cencus so he moved or died. Will pass along more details as I get them. Which line do you decend from. I am SAMUEL C>HARDY>ANN E m ISSAC JORDAN Hope this helps. Hal Jordan
