I'm looking for anyone else working on North Carolina Hookers, specifically in Randolph County. Isom/Isham HOOKER was born 20 Jun 1820 near Ashborough, Randolph Co., NC and died 18 Mar 1884 near Bangor, Marshall Co, IA. His wife was Martha BELL (possibly PELL) who was born 21 Apr 1821 in NC and died 30 Apr 1890 near Bangor, Marshall Co, IA. She may have been the daughter of Andrew BELL who was living in Randolph County in 1830, but had either died or moved by 1840. Isom's siblings included Obediah/Odem born 1825 NC, Isaac born 1828 NC, Jacob born 1828 NC, Allen H. (perhaps Harrison) born 1830 NC, Alexander F. born 1832 NC, Eliza A. born 1840 NC, and Sarah born 1843 NC (all of these births were probably near Ashborough, and almost certainly in Randolph Co.). Isom's parents were Robert HOOKER born circa 1795 in NC, died between 1870 and 1880 in Randolph Co, NC and Rachel HADDOCK/HAYDOCK/HADOCK who was born circa 1798 in NC and was probably the daughter of John HADDOCK who was born in 1765 in Ireland. I believe Robert HOOKER's father was Jacob HOOKER born about 1755 and appears in the 1810 census for Randolph Co, NC. I'm looking for confirmation of the information on Isom's parents, siblings, and earlier generations. I have not been able to find any connection between these Hookers and the ones from Chowan Co who moved to TN. I have information to trade on Isom's descendants who settled in IN and IA during the 1870s and 1880s.
