    3. May 20, 1999 Dear Friends: Please pardon the unsolicited message, but I wanted to advise the membership of a rare genealogy I am currently offering: HOOKER, EDWARD. The Descendants of Rev. Thomas Hooker, Hartford, Conn., 1586-1908. Margaret Huntington Hooker, edit. Rochester, N.Y., [Np., Privately Printed for Margaret Huntington Hooker], 1909. Thick 8vo. Pp. xxxvi, 5 5 8. Orig. three-quarter dark brown morocco, marbled boards, spine printed in gilt. with four raised bands. Top edge gilt, other edges uncut and partially unopened. Significant wear to external hinges and extremities, spine rubbed at base with approx. 1/4" loss across bottom. Internally excellent. First and only edition. Extensively indexed and annotated. Concerns the progeny of Rev. Thomas Hooker (1586?-1647), Congregational clergyman, emigrated during the Puritan exodus from England together with John Cotton, and Samuel Stone and landed at Boston in 1633. "Dictionary of American Biography" in its appraisal of Hooker, refers to him as '...emphatically one of the founders of that state [Connecticut]'. A very readable and serviceable printing, with much anecdotal as well as genealogical evidence. The introduction is lengthy and makes copious reference to Rev. Thomas Hooker $165.00 It is a very serviceable copy and I offer it subject to prior sale. Thanking you in advance for your courtesy and consideration, I am, Sincerely, Christopher Hartman David L.
