Roberta, I don't have the reference at my fingertips but I read that Thomas Hooker was the son of an overseer of an estate in England. His parents are apparantly known but fire destroyed all records of their ancestors. He was educated at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. He fled to Holland amid legal difficulties common to Puritans of that period. He came to America on a ship that I believe was named the Grissom. I recall that most of my information came throughthe Wheaton College Library in Wheaton, Illinois. I am interested in thae book that you mentioned: "Descendants of Thomas Hooker". Where can I find it? I should like to study in it awhile.
