I am also glad to see more activity on our Hooker list. My 2nd g.grandfather, James Fannin Hooker b. 1843 Franklin Co, AL, also came to TX in abt 1867. James Fannin Hooker was the son of Allen Hooker b. abt 1805 TN and Martha J. (unknown maiden name) b. abt 1820 VA. James siblings were: George Ann b.abt 1833 AL; Franklin b.abt 1836; John M. b. abt 1840; Elizabeth B. b. abt 1845; Allen Charles (or Charles Allen) b. abt 1847; and Lucy E. Hooker b. abt 1850. After James Fannin came to TX, he met and married Irena Portovent Jackson in Athens, Henderson Co, TX. They left Henderson Co and resided in Lamar Co for several years before settling in Kemp, Kaufman Co, TX where they both died in the early 1900's. The true parents of my Allen Hooker have not been determined. Any help will be appreciated. Karen Hooker Hendrix
