This is to clarify some previous messages where I did not state all these children, etc. In John Phillips will of 1792 of Craven Co., NC he mentions only his grandsons John and Thomas Hooker. They are left a Negro each I believe.(Others are mentioned but these only Hooker's mentioned) So I would assume these are the only two born at that time. Then comes William, Nathan, Hymerick Jr. and Mary, all mentioned as children and heirs of Elizabeth Phillips Hooker with John and Thomas in the 1807 settlement. Nathan by his Bible record was born 1793, Hymerick, Jr. by tombstone 1787, John by tombstone 1780, Mary married 1814. One William Hooker married Laney Harper (born about 1760-1770 by Harper family calculations) One married a Martha and they were both dead by 1842... Nadine Newhouse has on her web page I believe that Hymerick Sr.'s William married Rebecca Woolston and had daughter Rebecca who married George Freeman. (Hadn't heard this beforei saw it there) There are some deeds which were re-registered in Greene after Dobbs/Lenoir all burned, abstracted by Wm. L. Murphy. Has anyone seen this, and are there any Hooker deeds there? Admittedly there are not many this early but... One Hymerick Hooker married Martha Ormand (born 1824) mentioned in Walker Ormand's case 19 Dec. 1842. A Merit Ormand married Eliza b. hooker 1 June 1852 mentione din James Ormand's Book both of these on Greene Co. web page. (also the Turnage will is there and the 2 Tison-Tyson Bibles) Rose
