Hooker was the son of Stephen Hooker, grandson of James Hooker, great grandson of William Hooker, II (d. 1756), and great-great grandson of William Hooker, I, (d. 1717). Capt. Hooker was one of the early "cattle kings" of Florida and led a very eventful life. Of particular interest to Hooker researchers will be endnote number 3, which includes an enormous number of sources on the early Hookers of North Carolina and Georgia. Kyle VanLandingham
