First, I think we have established that Hymerick Hooker's son, Thomas, who married Sarah Turnage, remained in North Carolina and did not move to Tennessee. However, in Tennessee, at the same time there were two (2) other Thomas Hookers. The first was the one you mentioned in your posting, Rose. He was Major Thomas Hooker and he married Elizabeth Walsh or Welch. He was b. June 10, 1779. His wife was born Oct. 4, 1783. They had the children you mentioned and in 1815 this family moved from Smith County, Tennessee to Vanderburgh County, Indiana. This is dealt with in Malcolm Hooker's Appendix 2, 1979 revised edition of his book. Malcolm speculates that this Thomas Hooker may have been a grandson of Benjamin Hooker I by one of Benjamin l's older children. The other Thomas Hooker, the ancestor of Diann, was born ca. 1777/79. He married Elizabeth Walker and also lived in Smith County, Tennessee. He later moved to Texas. Malcolm Hooker says that he deals with this Thomas Hooker's family in Appendix 3. However, I do not have a complete copy of Malcolm's book and I am missing Appendix 3. The book is in the Texas State Library. I will be over there next week and will copy the remaining pages of the book.
