Bill, Got your posting and was trying to update my files and I noticed that you speculate that Mamie may have had a half sister, Mary E. that married Thomas D. Ansley. Your DOB for Mary is Oct 16, 1868. The DOB that I have for Alex is June 29, 1858. I know that it is not entirely impossible for him to be the father of Mary but----- he would have been only 10 years old. The date that I have for Alex is taken off of his tombstone in cemetery #24, Fort Gordon, GA. He is buried there along side his wife Arrenna and adjacent to Arrenna,s parents, Henry Broadway and Matilda Jeffcoat Hooker. Let me know what you think about this.
