She was born in Hadley, Mass. in the late 1700's (maybe 1780's or 90's). She had a son William Fellows, a merchant in Utica N.Y. He had a son John Fellows living in Chicago in 1908. Sarah Hooker Fellows portrait was painted by Gilbert Stewart, the famous Am. Artist who studied under Benjamin West. There was reportedly a second portrait done at the time of her son William Fellows who would have been about 3 years old at the time of the painting. My family has the painting of Sarah who was reportedly a direct descendant of Thomas Hooker , founder of Hartford Conn. My connection is through Sarah Hooker's second marriage to Killian Winne. She is my g-g-g-grandmother. Sarah Hooker may have been an aunt to General Joseph Hooker also of Hadley Mass. and of John Hooker who married Isabel Beecher Hooker sister of Harriet Beecher Stowe.
