Heart trouble has been so rampant in the US over the past several decades that it appears to be more from our diet and the stress of our lifestyle - in countries where people eat more butter, etc., and take more tiem eating, but havve less stressful lifestyles there are a lot fewer heart attacks - I think genetics could play a part if it is a heart disease or defect more than just a heart attack - caused by high cholesterol and/or high BP. Louisa could have died young or been using a middle name/another given name on the census. Sharon had posted on Sept 29th, 2006 that Samuel and Lucinda Hooker had a son, Joel, who died at age 28 days in 1855 in Patrick Co.,VA of "bold hives." Other posts on that day by Sharon were of the mother of Jack Hooker's Jesse, Mary Hooker, died at age 92 in 1858 of a fever - informant Jesse Hooker, son. There were 2 other Hooker deaths she posted that day and several land records between 1771-1801 in Patrick Co.,VA listing Robert Hooker (Koger Creek), a Samuel on the Dan River and a Wm Hooker all between those dates in Patrick Co.,VA. Jack is having to answer me at a later date - can anyone remember when his Wm came over the line from NC into VA c early 1800s? Hi Charlotte, I find your information pertaining to the health of your HOOKER'S quite interesting. Some of my mothers line has dealt with heart problems, and I had up to this point thought that it came from the WRIGHT'S side rather than the HOOKER'S. My GGrandmother was Nancy Jane Hooker Wright b. 28 April 1857 Randolph Co., ILL, the daughter of George W. Hooker b. 1836 Franklin Co., ILL., his father was William Hooker b. 1802 South Carolina. This looks right - I never knew the marriage date of Isham and Louisa so did not know they were living taht much after your John b c 1797 in VA and Esom b c 1796 in VA. So this Samuel that was the father of Isham who married Louisa was not the same Samuel that was living next to Esom in 1820 and was older than Esom, obviously. This Samuel was b in the 1800s - so do we know his father?? Was he a g-son of Wm? Or th g-son of another brother of Esom and John b c late 1790s in VA? What was the date of the Isham and Louisa marriage - and where again was it? (I could never get that marriage record site to open)- was Isham's mother liisted as Lucinda on the record of the marriage?? Louisa might have gone by a middle name or she might have died young?? We know taht the Isham you listed in NC was not b in VA (and was g-son of Jacob from Randolph Co., NC) - was that other Isham you listed in VA the right age to be the Isham who married Louisa?? Was this Samuel below the right age to be the father of that Isham who married Louisa!! I could tell if I had the marriage date for Isham and Louisa. Thanks, Celeste --- CharlotteAnneMlr@aol.com wrote: > > Is this the right Samuel Hooker who is supposed to > be the father of the > Isham Hooker who married Louisa Morris? > I could not find an Isham Hooker with a wife named > Louisa on any census. > I couldn't find this Isham Hooker on the 1880 or > 1900 censuses. > Thanks, > Charlotte > > Descendants of Samuel Hooker > > > Generation No. 1 > > 1. This Isham is the g-son of Linda's Jacob - Linda's Robert's brother, Jacob, had a g-son named Isham in Randolph Co., NC. There were 3 Randolph Co., NC Hookers in the time before 1790 John, Robert and Jacob if I remember right - but the name Isham might be a connection to the VA Hooker line as is the name Robert. John moved, died?? or something before 1790 and Robert moved ot IN by 1808. Jacob stayed in Randolph Co., NC.
