    2. Charlotte, Thanks for the advice, I will try it. Keep up the good work on the Hookers! Bob Bob, Maybe you could send a query to the county list where they were married at. You also could contact the court house in that county to see if there is a marriage record for them, it might tell who their parents are. I will look try to find them on some census records for you. 2. Hello Charlotte Miller and Hooker Rootsweb readers: Recently Charlotte you sent the following----- "Ohio Marriages Recorded in County Courts 1 Jan. 1821 - 31 Dec. 1830 An Index Vol. 1" HOOKER, John Jr. & FIELD, Mary 31 Jan. 1826, Tuscarawas Co. Vol. #001 Pg. #099 John and Mary Hooker are my GGGrandparents. I knew of their marriage date and location but have no knowledge of their birthdates or places. Also I know John Jr.s parents were also John and Mary but know nothing more about them. Does anyone have addition information or a suggested source of information that may be of help in tracing this northern branch of Hookers back further in time? Thank you, Bob Jackson _gr8jhawk@aol.com_ (mailto:gr8jhawk@aol.com)

    3. Did the book not show any earlier Davidson Co., TN marriages or any Williamson Co., Tn marriages from 1800-1815. I know there were Hookers in Williamson Co.,TN from 1801-1818. These may be ours (of the 6 brothers), but there seem to be no records (none found) besides the tax records showing a Thomas and a Wm inthose yrs. Did this book only have those few TN counties? I feel some of ours were in eastern TN - we know yours were in Washignton CO.,TN for a while c 1830. 3. Those Hooker marriages in Wilson and Rutherford counties appear to be from the line of Benjamin "II" Hooker (who was from the eastern VA c 1699 to NC line of Wm "I" Hooker - right?) And quite a bit has been written about the James G Hooker who came from VA to TN (Davidson Co.,TN) - later moving to Shelby Co.,TN, from what I remember. 1. [HOOKER] Samuel N Hooker b c 1810 TN, Lawrence Co.AL 1830 and Yazoo MS by 1850
    2. Adella Holly
    3. I have posted on this Samuel N Hooker before, but we now have found him in Yazoo MS by 1850 with his family. Has anyone heard of him before? He has sons: Robin (b c 1844), Jackson (b c 1834)both b AL and John (1847 MS) and Samuel (1836 AL) - and daughters: Ester A and Elizabeth, Judy (Juthy?), and Melissa and wife Sarah (b c 1815 AL). The link to Lawrence Co.,AL and the given names link to the line of the 6 Hooker brothers (most b between 1777-1780s in NC) and indicate that this Samuel N. Hooker might be a brother to Seth and Robert and Wm C Hooker (all b TN between 1800-1817) - probable sons of WM Hooker b late 1770s in NC. Please reply if you have any more info on this person/family. Celeste test'; "> ____________________________________________________________________________________ The fish are biting. 1. [HOOKER] Al born:Robert b c 1833, James b c 1835, John b c 1838, Jackson b c 1841 and Thomas b c 1839
    2. Adella Holly
    3. These are all listed on the 1850 Franklin Co.,AL census and do not appear again that we can find. Jackson seems to be A J or Andrew Jackson - like some of the other males in the 6 brothers line - the others are all names used inthe 6 brothers line of Hookers (most b in NC between 1777-1780s). There may be an older brother to these 5 listed above: Wm Hooker (b c 1832) and out of the house at this point. Their single parent is listed as "Micheal" and might be "Michal" Kent who was wife to Seth Hooker probable son of Wm Hooker (b c late 1770s in NC) who moved into Franklin Co.,AL c 1818 from TN. Seth was b TN c 1805-1810. He married in Lawrence Co.,AL as did his older brother Robert, and Seth married a lady named Michal; she was b VA so this might be a mistake in gender for "Micheal" in 1850, as I stated before. Another probable older brother is the Samuel N Hooker in Lawrence Co., AL in 1830 - later seeming to move to Yazoo MS by 1850. The marriage date (Dec 1831) for Seth and Michal corresponds with these children and allows for a possible older son nmaed after Seth's father, Wm. Has anyone out there seen any of these males who would be these ages and b AL? Celeste test'; "> ____________________________________________________________________________________ Cheap talk? 3. Mine came from Eng. into VA in the U S in the 1600s, it seems. If we can get the proof back to early 1600s in VA then maybe in the records of the early settlements/settlers we can make the jump "over the pond" back to Eng - so far we are stuck c 1770s in North Carolina. Did you find some other Hookers still living in the area (Sussex?) that James was in in 1841? or in 1851? Wish there was some way to access the earlier censuses in the U K even just for Head of Household names - we use the ealy censuses here in the U S - pre 1850 - for Head of House names and that helps even though no ophter names are lsited on the early censuses. I go by my middle name, Celeste: (Adella is my first given name and is my g-grandmother's name - in the Hooker/Allen/Darwood line) Celeste --- pam <pam2001@hotkey.net.au> wrote: > Hello Adele > James HOOKER was living in Tottenham,Middlesex , in > 1851 Census, he was aged > 35yrs,occupation Labourer , with his wife Eliza aged > 29yrs and 2 children > James HOOKER son aged 5years and Eliza HOOKER > daughter 2 yrs both were born > Tottenham,. Hello, there in Australia, I am in Texas - I write to several Australian some who are related to my Italian side of the family and one possibly to my English Darwoods. So far no Hookers on my Australian Hooker e-mail list - until you!!
