In the past we have had long discussions about the Joseph Hookler line (from MA) - I guess before you came on the list. since there are books about the Rev. Thoomas line and the Joseph Hooker lines and many of them have their lines maped out I guess they tend to not need the list as much as the "southern" Hookers about whom less has been written, it seems. Have your brother's results "matched" any other Hooker results - they probably are all - both north and south lines - related back in Eng and those results show matches that go back to the 1500s and 1600s. The reason it's mostly southerners that query on the list is because the northern families are very well documented. The family that went to IL and then to WA is the family of Joseph Hooker. The Hartford family is that of Rev. Thomas Hooker. Both of these families are well documented. The southern Hookers on the other hand, with the exception of the William Hooker family of VA/NC, is less documented. Seems like we get to VA and hit a brick wall. Just thought I'd add my two cents worth. Joyce In a message dated 11/24/2007 12:36:46 P.M. Joyce, I think there must be more Hooker lines up North than just Rev. Thomas and Joseph. As I think I told you before my Hooker line is very well documented to my gggrandfather Stephen G. Hooker of Chicago, IL. He moved there in the 1850s with his wife Helen Norton Hooker from NY where they were married. Stephen was born in VT. Now I "think" Stephen G. Hooker is the son of Stephen Hooker and Abigail Goss. This Stephen is the son of Daniel Hooker and Mary Gates. I think Daniel's father was Jacob Hooker. There are places that state that Daniel Hooker was born in Germany but that is not true. He was born in New England. So if we go by what you have stated, where does my line fit in? My brother did the Hooker DNA testing and we have his results. We are waiting for our second cousin, last remaining male Hooker, who is the ggrandson of Stephen G. Hooker. You said the Hookers from IL went to WA? Who were these Hookers? Can you give me a name of the first. I actually live now in WA state and could probably either rule them out for my line or see if they do fit in. Hope to figure this out. thanks, Linda Lathrop Jmw1431@aol.com wrote: The reason it's mostly southerners that query on the list is because the northern families are very well documented. Linda, I don't *personally* connect to the Hookers, but I have gathered a lot of records on them, and the Sessums, due to my Sizemore research. Yes, I sent Richard a copy of my message to this list and he did reply. Even though these markers do not match either of our Sizemore Q groups, I think it's still worth exploring. There has to be more family out there from: George Washington Milton Hooker's, (son of John M. Hooker) He had three wifes. (9 kids first wife and 7 the second)we don't of the other two?
Not sure I'm Reading you right. There are only 2 left that are the sons of George Washington Milton Hooker's, (son of John M. Hooker) children: Andrew Clarence Hooker Jr, son of Clarence Hooker from first family and mysetf.: George Frederick Groll/Pirkel son also of GWMH's dau. first family.
The Randolph Co., NC pedigree is H-6 the one I'm interested in. http://worldfamilies.net/surnames/h/hooker/pats.html Joy ----- Original Message ----- From: treesearcher@rushmore.com To: hooker@rootsweb.com Sent: Friday, September 28, 2007 3:35 PM Subject: Re: [HOOKER] DNA Results/Atten treesearcher/Linda Celeste, I don't know if I saw the one mentioning Randolph Co., NC and you send it to me?
