Boy, that should keep us busy. I just don't have time for all the things you dig up. Do you have 48 hours in your days? Mine have only 24! But Keep 'Em Coming! I save those I think might be worth looking into, and it I live long enough, I'll get into them! Thanks for keeping me on your "out mail" list! Beverly

Hi Listees, I just thought I would tell you that in accordance with unanimous aggreement I have altered the list so that replies go back to the list. Technically this is overridden if you send messages to the list with your own "reply to line" which will take precendence. THis list has under a hundred members and as such replies to the list are not burdensome. However just for your own knowledge, I also made this change yesterday to the ANDERSON list with over 600 members and today we experienced 20 messages arguing over a URL, 5 nondescript polite thankyous, and a partridge in a pear tree, which is the kind of thing that always worried me. So I switched the ANDERSON list back. So as long as this list is still small we will run with replies to the list However the point of this message is to remind you that your responses go to the whole list so: 1) stay on topic of family genealogy 2) any extraneous THANK YOUS I see will be assumed to be directed at me:) Patrick Anderson

I agree with Gerald. I believe that we are missing a lot by just seeing one side of the conversation. Kinda like sitting across the room and listening to someone talking on the phone. Go for it. Al Hooker
Hi listees, A technical question for you. I currently have the list set up so that reply to answers go to the originator of the message instead of to the list address. Since we have a reasonably small membership I could change that so that responses go to the whole list. It would mean an increase in message traffic, but the advantage would be that you would each see the answers everybody sends. you could still control whether your response goes to the originator or to the list, the change would just mean that when you hit the reply to button, the list address would pop up automatically instead of the originators address. You would have to manually change that if you wanted to respond only to the orignator. I welcome you comments on this, I want to run the list to serve the membership. Patrick Anderson (list manager)
Does anyone have a list of children for Stephen Hooker that shows up on the 1790 Tyrell County NC Census? Thanks, Joyce Hooker Wright
