Hello List, I'm seeking information on: Harriet Hooker, born 1826 in Danville, Vermont. I think her father may have been Franklin Hooker, born 1792 in Sturbridge, MA. Harriet married John Laney, of Bristol, NH, and they moved with their son, Charles Francis Laney, to Nevada County, CA.sometime in the late 1840's or early 1850's. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. harriette

We think he was born in NC but not sure. We've had quite a discussion on him and his two brothers, we think, John & Jacob in the past month. He lived in Randolph Co., NC and moved to Scott Co., IN in abt. 1808. We have tried to connect him up with the 6 brothers but haven't found anything. We have confused two different Isham's this one is not the one who married Louisa Morris. This one would have been 93 when he married her. I have seen the article before but don't know how to verify the assumptions. The William-Samuel connection is possible. I do not see how the John Hooker, Sr. of Tyrrell Co. connection is possible.
