I have often wandered about the name Collinge. Middle names are fascinating. In the case of my father, there's going to be some confusion. My father is Robert Payne Holt; there is no one in the family -- until 1975 -- named Payne. He was named after a favorite Sunday School teacher. >Thomas settled in Rosefield Township, Peoria County. > >Any connection? Not until I get more data, or until someone else has a Clemons/Clemens/etc. in their list. Sometimes I wonder if Clemons didn't just adopt a name when he left England.
