Is anyone else researching the family of Herod/Harrod/Hirrad/Harod Holt and wife Martha Salmon?? 1820 Census lists them in Cannon Co., TN. Believe them to be parents of Thomas Holt b. c 1820 who married Elizabeth Ring, 1842, Cannon Co. Elizabeth was dau. of William Ring and Mary Ann Matthews, also of Cannon Co. -- One Hirrad (var. spellings!) Holt listed on same Census pg. as William Ring. Believe this Harrod/Herod/etc. to be brother to Fielding Holt who mar. Fanny Parsley. Thomas Holt/Elizabeth Ring had four children (according to Census records) - three sons and one dau. Dau. Mary Ann mar. James Knox Polk Smith -- and moved to Ozark Co., MO - in the same general area as descendants of Fielding Holt/Fanny Parsley. Mary Ann Holt/James K.P. Smith later moved to Rock Island, Colorado Co., Texas, both bur. Myrtle Cemetery there. Sue
