While file attachments are not permitted on the Rootsweb mailing lists, they are permitted on the rootsweb message boards (in GedCom, JPG and GIF formats only) and in the case of this list (and some others) the Message Board is linked to the list. So, a notice of the file attachment would be made on this mailing list. Just a thought... The HOLT message board at Rootsweb is at http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=surnames.holt -- some people may need to cut and paste that complete URL as it is long enough to get split by some readers.
