In my previous e-mail -- For those of you who are not "into quilts," a brief history of the Alamance Factory established by Edwin M. Holt in 1837 is included in the book, Ellen Fickling Eanes, et al., North Carolina Quilts (Chapel Hill, NC: Univ. of NC Press, 1988), pp.12-13, and a quilt made by Elizabeth Ann Mebane, wife of Alfred Augustus Holt, oldest son of E.M. Holt, is pictured and described on pp.66-67. I forgot to also say that a picture of Elizabeth Ann is in the book just below her quilt. --Wilene Smith in KS
