I have this note about Drury Holt in my Holt database. Hope it provides a clue. Betty Drury Holt (b. 29 Dec 1759) was in the Elk Creek District of Montgomery Co., VA, in the 1780s (now Grayson County). From there he was in Hawkins Co, TN (now Hancock) and from there moved into Knox Co, KY (now Whitley) where he died. The Holt Herald, Vol. 3, Number 3, April 1995, edited by Andrea K. Storm. From manuscript written by Irving Groves III, and info from Polly Creekmore and the Sussex, Surry, and Southampton Co, VA, record books. Drury Holt was the son of Nathaniel Holt. Nathaniel Holt (b. by 1733, d. 3 Nov 1814 in Albemarle Parish) who m. Abbey "Abba" Clanton.
