Hello Joyce, Very good to hear from you, l sort of let the genealogy lay dormant for a while until my Howard passed away Sept. 14, 1995. Now l am back researching, l know the William Marion Holt who migrated to Douglas County, Missouri and was son of Mary Polly Holt who married Jackson Strunk and lived near Mountain Grove, Missouri in Douglas County. That is l have researched also, never really finding much, but have talked to at at least two of the descendants. One lives very near me, in Springfield, Mo. where l now reside since l sold our home in the suburbs of Springfield. Yes l know Wando Holt and his wife Jane....he is a half cousin of Howard's...his father as you probably know is also a William Marion Holt..I understand that when he was very young he married in l think it was Tenn., but sent the young bride back home and then later joined his half brother Addison Holt born 1856 in Whitley county, Ky. Addison Holt married Samantha Jane Murray and migrated to Seligman, Mo. where Samantha's parents had migrated earlier..They were John Franklin and Mirilda Siler Murray. Addison and Samantha with twin sons, John Franklin and Daniel Wilson Holt, with new born daugther Susan migrated to Springcreek Township, Douglas County, Mo. south of Ava, Missouri. William Marion Holt son of Daniel Wilson Holt and wife #2 Maryann Leach born in Jellico,Campbell County, Tenn. I have never been able to prove this but l belive that the original Jacob Holt who migrated to east end of Douglas, County, Missouri is related to my husband's line.. as there was a Pete Holt of the older generation of the Jacob Holt line that said they were...l never did get to talk to him..but Howard said that he had heard about it from Pete Holt. Addison Holt had to know someone in the area to have come from Seligman on a horse that he shared with another person who was suppose to have the last name of Williams, to specifically buy a farm on Springcreek township, in Douglas Co. which was a good 100 miles from Seligman, Mo. He had received money from land he sold in the Jellico Campbell County, Tenn. area..a settlement from the property of Daniel Wilson Holt and wife#1 Elizabeth Lawson. Elizabeth had received an inheritance from her father Isahm Lawson who died in Whitely County, Ky. in 1868. The land in Jellico, Campbell County, Tenn. was bought with this inheirtance. I must scoot have to work tomarrow.. Let us keep in touch. In 1980's we used to research Daniel Wilson Holt and William Marion Holt b April 7, 1837 Whitley Co., KY to Mary Polly Holt b November 1816 who married Jackson Strunk in Whitley Co., KY. I never have found any connection between the 2 except that Daniel Wilson Holt & his 2nd wife Mary Ann Leach named their first born son William Marion Holt, he born in 1878 I believe you said. I have found a son of William Marion Holt b 1878. He is Wando Holt. Are you interested in his email address or do you already know him?
