I have been going over David Eldred Holt's book and trying to figure out who he met at the "Plantation of his forefathers". As best I can glean, he was in Liberty, Virginia, near Lynchburg. He meets a young man, David, whose father is "old Uncle Jim." David later marries "Sally" He has a brother, Major Joseph Holt fighting at the front. (Civil War) They have a sister, Ann Holt, who married John Gill. Gill has a plantation, "Wolf Hill". Can anyone place these people?

Not familiar with the book Bob. Just looking for combinations of the names<VBG> There is a Robert Holt, one of the twins of Simon & Sara who has a William, Joseph and David and Isaac and Sallie. Robert born in 1764 in Richmond, VA and died in Hacock Co., GA at age 41 in Nov1805. The only near Gill I have is a Gilbert G Hot son of Milton Holt who was born 1817 in Georgia. Milton also has a son William P and a daughter Martha C. Tell us more.
