Using DNA I have connected to John Holt who appears in Granville Co. NC on Tax rolls as early as 1764 with Charles living nearby in the NC 1786 census. Here I am stymied since I can't locate John earlier than Charles' birth in VA. I am beginning to think that this John Holt is my immigrant ancestor from the UK.
