    1. [HOLT-L] Arrington Holt
    2. I don't know much about Arrington Holt but do know according to the 1800 NC census that by 1800 he had 1 female and two males born between 1790-1800 living with him. In the will of John Purnal of Halifax Co., NC, Bk.3, p.265, he mentions grandaughter Mason Holt and Arrington Holt is the exec. of his will. Could Mason be a child of Arrington? Could Arrington have married a daughter of John Purnals? In the 1816 will of Henry Purnell of Halifax Co., NC it states...to my daughter Elizabeth Henry Purnell and if daughter dies her share to go to Miss Mason Holt. Halifax Co., NC: William Hall to Arrington Holt--13 July 1798--205 pounds & ten shillings--land on S. side of March Swamp- Hartwell Hyde's Mill Swamp (commonly called March Swamp) line formally called Alfred; Cades Branch.--211 acres--Wit. Wit: Edward Crossland, William Dicken, SR Deed Bk 19,p327 [It sounds like Arrington was planning to make his move or at this time was out of the county, although we find him as late as 1802 in Halifax Co., NC] Halifax Co. NC 28 Jan 1802 Deed Bk 29, p330: William Hall to Arrington Holt for 35 lbs, 100 acres of land on the north side of "Rocky Swamp" adj. (film 317049--Vol l9 p133) Halifax Co., NC Deed Bk 19 p175, 7 Dec 1802: Arrington Holt, William Hall & Polly his wife to Isham Hawkins of Halifax Co., N.C. for $600.00, 211 acres of land on the south side of "Marsh Swamp" adjacent Hartwell Hydix Mill Swamp. (now Gilmour's) and "Cader Branch". Wit: J. Rhymes, J. P. S. Marshall J.P. (In proving the deed in court Polly Hall is spoken of as Mary Hall.) [Could Mary/Polly Hall be the wife of the late William Holt who died by 11 Nov 1794?] I think that Arrington Holt and his wife Patsy moved to Georgia in early 1803. This needs to be proven. From Jacqueline Wright I received the following: Washington Co., GA, 1820 Census: pg.143: Arrington Holt: 020101-0F; 2M (10-15/bc1805-10); 1M (16-25/195-1804); 1M (over 46/bn bef 1774) This shows that Arrington was in Georgia and I believe that he was with his brother Thomas Holt as a Thomas Holt shows up on Pg. 136
