Preston, they are at the Toanno annex , about 4 (?) miles out of town where they are stored in an industrial section of town for a few years until they can get the library finished. The large library at W & M is great and is on campus there at Williamsburg. Great selection of books and I found it much easier to use than the Library of Virginia at Richmond. You have to get a parking pass to park on campus from the museum which is just in front of the walk to the Library. If you go to Toano annex you can get a map of how to get there at the Public Library which also has a nice selection of books. Spent some time there as well. The annex has vertical files on the families of the area and they were where much of this last material came from. Very helpful there. My dead end is Barrett Holt who was born c. 1784 in Virginia. Dr. William Holt, David Holt and Barrett all were in Greene County, Tennessee at about 1800. Letters from some of Barrett's sons and grandsons say he was a brother or cousin to David and so would also be related to William. Family tradition has said that Barrett's father was a William. One scenario that we have always held open was the possibility of William having a marriage before his troth to Lucy Saunders. His first (?) wife could have died having child birth and William immediately remarried. Do any of the papers indicate that this could have been the case, especially with someone from a Barrett surname family. I get to Washington, DC periodically so will probably go to the W & M archives when I do. Is there any special way to find the records or are they filed alphabetically in the library. Preston Holt
