Foltz of Jackson Mississippi, which paper states that Dr. William Holt was a Captain of Infantry in Gen. George Washington's Army of the American Revolution , and after the war he practiced medicine and surgery.(hand written addendum by submitter, "my great grand mother") A letter from Miss Ruth Stockett of Jackson, Miss gives this information: "Lucy Saunders , as I understand it, was pure Scotch. She belonged to the Virginia family of that name. She was pictured to us of the younger generation as being a woman of much charm, culture and force of Charater." Lucy Saunders-(wife of Dr. William Holt), in the old Holt Bible belonging to Miss Mary Arinton Johnson , parents are given as Thomas Saunders of New Kent Co., VA.
