I just deciphered the surname "Miller" as the wife of one John Holt who was born in Ga. and married about 1845 to Mariah A. Miller possibly inBlount co. Al and Cherokee co. Ga. then the family was from SC and then Va. Maria would have been born about 1827, most census records state SC but a death cert of her dau. states Va. but the informant is a grandson of Mariah. John is probably John Caney Holt. This family is connected to the Duncan family of SC and Cherokee Ga. (possibly Native American). The mariage may even have taken place in East Tn. probably SE Tn counties.This query is a confusing "mess" isn`t it? So John Caney (Canie) Holt married Mariah A. Miller about 1845 or so. in Al. Tn or Ga. Thanks for help in the past. Sue
